I look at the Republican Party clown car, then I look at the anointed one for the Democrats and I shudder. Is that the best they can do?

With variations, that’s an echo from all past elections. It was said about Ralph Nader in 2000. Look how well that worked in Florida..Why don’t we just have cute dumb royals for sentimental photo ops, and a parliament to squabble over the real government work?

@Gary KleppeClinton has been anointed by the MSM. Sanders is a Democrat I could vote for. I haven’t voted for a Dem or Rethug for president since 1980.

Thanks, Ted. Once again you’ve nailed the uncomfortable truth about “that woman.” Plus, as is the case with many politicians, she’s just annoyingly grating to listen to. Our choices are so constrained. The Supreme Court is the biggest issue for me, though. I’d like to be able to dismantle about 60% of the military industrial complex over the next 20 years and focus on scientific research, American infrastructure and education, but fat chance of that. We Americans generally support warmongering, so it’s doubtful a true person of peace will ever be elected. It’s also probably impossible to be elected without being a hypocrite, so you’re always going to have plenty of subject matter to work with.

I remember ‘68. A dozen or so old, white Democratic men picked Humphrey, since he’d been VP. He said we had to continue the war even though it was not winnable, since giving up would mean we’d wasted thousands of lives of brave American soldiers who’d died in the previous four years, and giving up would be like Chamberlain at Munich. So lots of Democrats stayed home on election day and Nixon won with his ‘secret plan to win the war’..Some said that Nixon’s victory in ‘68 led to Reagan in ’80, Bush, sr, then Clinton, who was more Republican than Nixon since it was Clinton who abolished welfare and the Glass ceiling on bankers’ profits, and then we got Bush, jr. They say if Democrats had held their noses and elected Humphrey, the direction would have been toward people like McGovern and later Sanders, saving thousands of American soldiers’ lives and giving us an economy where 90% doesn’t all go to the 1%..Others say that Humphrey would have been just like Nixon, and if a Democrat had won in ‘80, he’d have been just like Reagan. That voting is only legal because it makes absolutely no difference..That same argument will rage in ‘16..The odds are that Hillary has a 56% chance of winning as we speak, and she won’t be as timid as Obama. The US under Hillary will be much more aggressive than it has been the last 6 years, and will take out the Syrian, Iranian, Russian, and Chinese regimes and she’ll replace those evil regimes with honest governments that ensure Peace and Democracy (just like in Iraq and Libya).

But, as David Brooks of the New York Times says, Hillary will have a hard time since she’s on the far, loony left, while the Republican candidates are all holding to the center where they’ll have the support of most Americans. (Of course, they all, except for Paul, promise to be much more aggressive than Hillary and will replace all the world’s evil regimes with peaceful, prosperous Democracies, not just the four Hillary would stop at. Not to mention making life much easier for the 1%, since the more they make, the more crumbs will trickle down to the rest of us.)

So those of you young enough to see the next 10 years have much to look forward to.

Wow Did you read that somewhere, perhaps a conservative publication? Were you there? I was. He got elected because of the hostages. History has since proved that Carter is a much better man than Reagan ever was. He was also senile.

Only intelligent long term thinkers would vote for Bernie. There are far too many liberals and DINOs “conceding” the election to Mrs Clinton who should be no higher than 5th on their rankings.President Sanders would be the best choice for Americans, BY FAR.

We can hope that he changes the dialogue but I wouldn’t bet on it.
