The same thing happened at many, many companies, mine included.

And, sure, it hurt American workers, but it enriched the profits of our patriotic multinational corporations.

And those patriotic multinational corporations gave many bribes campaign contributions to our patriotic legislators who helped make it happen.

And Republicans/Fox “news” viewers are supremely happy with the results, confident in the knowledge that any day now, those multinational corporate profits are going to trickle down to them and lift their boat.

    Because Benghazi.

Have you heard of Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California? Big supporter of said program. Also supported Bush administration quite a bit and is probably the ONE person that is keeping recreational pot illegal in CA. When was the last time you heard Bill Maher go after her?

…and limiting the H-1B visas won’t change things – the worker assigned to replace you will “telecommute” from India if visas aren’t available.

Can anyone explain how this involves the “government”. THIS IS CORPORATE GREED -PLAIN AND SIMPLE. The public has been advised that this was going on for many years. A young MITT Romney and other venture capital etc groups have been some of the causes.Their moto is and has been for a long time. " Drive domestic labor down," Trying to reduce pay and benefits to third world levels.

Some Democrats and Republicans have worked on limiting H1 B visas which Obama signed and Conservatives have been blindly denouncing:

“On Feb. 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“stimulus bill”), Public Law 111-5.38 Section 1661 of the ARRA incorporates the Employ American Workers Act (EAWA) by Senators Sanders (I-Vt.) and Grassley (R-Iowa) to limit certain banks and other financial institutions from hiring H-1B workers unless they had offered positions to equally or better-qualified U.S. workers, and to prevent banks from hiring H-1B workers in occupations they had laid off U.S. workers from.”

It’s like George Carlin said nearly 50 years ago on the Smothers Brothers Show. There’s only one party, the Money Party with the Democrat and Republican branches. Go third party. All social change starts small. VOTE GREEN!!

When California had a moderate Republican Party, they could compete in statewide elections. There are enough moderate Democrats who get nervous around the far left. We had a left Democratic Senator & a moderate Republican. With only far right Republicans we got a left Democrat & a rightish Democrat. My district goes Republican every time.

The last redistricting they agreed to make as many safe seats as possible for the current incumbents of both parties rather than a costly court battle which would likely draw fair districts & a major wild card.

No idea what you are talking about. Since we generally agree on most things,. I find it weird that you seem to be opposing me here.

Given the choice between two sellouts, it’s kind of inevitable that voters will elect a sellout. Not voting is the best alternative.

@Ted RallWhat about third parties? If they to start gain locally, they will inevitably start to gain in the states and then the country. We can’t just give up, which is what not voting is.

The favorite act at “the Magic Kingdom” has always been cutting their employees in half- at least salaries (and individuality!) The Disney contracting and philiosphy has also done serious damage to several federal agencies over the years, during “conservative” administrations especially. Want public lands to remain public? Disney and friends DO NOT!
