I’m a veteran. This strip doesn’t offend me. Having been there, I know that the military attracts more than its share of sociopaths. I don’t like to hear “Thank you for your service.” because, in most cases, they are empty words. Too many politicians mouth those words while trying to cut or privatize the VA.

There are things other than this that many don’t want to be “thanked” for. They just did what we sent them to do. Just say, “Welcome home.”
