Those “items” consuming all the time while you’re needlessly held up in line are largely STUPID when considering actual risk. The stockpiles of seized “contraband” items are huge, and those stupid rules go back to the very beginning of TSA.

Remember when al-Quaida brought down an airliner with a liquid bomb? A shoe bomb? An underwear bomb?Yeah, me neither. But just hint at a threat and we all dance to their tune.

Wolfie; my pocket “micro” leatherman – with a “legal” blade, was seized in Orlando once, but a wiser head prevailed and at least it was mailed back to me, it had been an award and was engraved. (That I was about to strangle the little idiot who took it, prompted the “wiser head” to step up and state; “’Nam vet?”, “yes”, “PTSD”, “yes”, “you were gon’na kill him?” “Yes”. “Come with me and we’ll get it back to you.” End of “problem”.)

Yes, had my over half-used 4 oz sunscreen (special for sensitive skin) taken away in Detroit Metro — only size it comes in, can’t find any replacement where I’m going — so I’ll just have to get sun-burned for the sake of “safety.”
