That was Rand Paul who said that.

Guess who’s now out of favor with Fox “news”.

You know, the ‘fair and balanced’ one. Does watching Fox “news” really make people dumber?

Uh, I’d say Republican chickenhawks, not so much actual “hawks”. Those who never served WERE the ones laying out the plans that screwed everything up. A lot of knowledgeable Republicans with actual experience, were ignored! It wasn’t just the Dems who were blatantly lied to , and threatened if they spoke up.

Well, I stand corrected, sort of. Rand Paul was immediately attacked by the other Republican candidates and Fox “news”.

So, naturally, Rand Paul backtracked on his statements that Republican hawkish policies were responsible for the growth of ISIS.

Another dramatic demonstration of Republican ‘courage’ and adherence to ‘principles’. I sure hope Paul is able to worm his way back into the good graces of Fox “news”.

====All the other Republican candidates that have attacked Paul have The Solution to the problems in the Middle East. It turns out that The Solution to all the problems in the Middle East is… leadership!

Details, of course, are not available

Funny, if you go back and look at Nixon’s speeches, the same theme keeps coming up. Whatever the issue, the solution came around to… leadership.

Nixon’s secret plan to end the Viet Nam war was one he carried to his grave. His successful plan to end the peace effort is now known, however.

We Americans voted twice to pull out of Iraq. That’s what Obama ran on. He has tried to do just that. ISIS is not an existential threat. Neither was Iraq. By the way, more people voted for Gore than W, you know. That means even though Gore is an insufferable, arrogant, condescending, pompous guy, he should have been president instead of the dummy we got. Let’s see, arrogant and condescending vs. willfull ignorance and warmongering…tough choice but I think the arrogance would have been far less damaging to the country.

Former secretary of state George Shultz, reflecting on forty years of United States foreign policy from 1970 to the present, said, “When I think about all the money we spent on bombs and munitions, and our failures in Viet Nam, Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world . . . Instead of advancing our agenda using force, we should have instead built schools and hospitals in these countries, improving the lives of their children. By now, those children would have grown into positions of influence, and they would be grateful to us instead of hating us."Still true. No matter what random right-wing drivel generators like mdavis4183 spout.
