Golly, you mean for once we’re more “civilised” in Spain than in Paris? There are still older people who won’t bend down to clean up after their dogs, but the young people have taken on the clean-up without a murmur, even though city hall which has stopped distributing free bags—after spending huge money to install distribution boxes! Of course someone made money on the box contract—not so much on the plastic bags.
I was out walking my shih tzu early one morning and we passed a large deposit before she did her own business. I picked it up and moved on. I was turning to go up the next street when I hear someone shrieking at me. She was screaming that I had not picked up my dog’s mess. I showed her my dooty bag and went on but she kept hollering. So I went back showed her the dooty bag, pointed at the huge pile and my small dog and said “THAT did not come out of my dog. Here I have an extra bag YOU pick it up.” She threw the bag down and stormed off. I guess it didn’t bother her so much after all.
Thanks to Pop’s hunting dogs, very common during my youth, but the last straw was a new pen floor of crushed limestone and picking the stones out of the lab dumps.
I think we need to rethink the levels of hell. The deepest layer must be reserved for politicians, but I really can’t think of a suitable punishment for them. I don’t think the Marquis de Sade could think of a suitable punishment for them.
Then there’s the dude who invented shrink wrap. His punishment would be to open the packaging he created.
And don’t forget the level reserved for those who fail to use their turn signals. They have to constantly dodge turning drivers (who don’t flash their signal in advance).
