Our 6 month old kitty Chester, passed while sleeping in one of the office chairs with our pixie bobcat, Roy, sleeping right next to him. It was very sad for all of us..

Frank, all pet losses are heartbreaking but yours is especially tragic. I hope expressing it helps you to get through.

When you’re ready….think about adopting a cat or two from your local shelter. For every one adopted, you save two lives: the one you bring home, and the additional space for one at the shelter. Izzy and Tommy would smile.

Oh my! The only other comic strip I ever cried over was when Farley died years ago in “For Better or For Worse”, until today.

Again Frank, so very sad and sorry for you and yours.

Fully understand the grief you are going through. Izzy couldn’t live without Tommy….now they are together again. My Dale lived 1 year after her litter mate, Kristen, passed. Colin (our younger cat) grieved himself sick when Dale passed and died in my arms while I was administering his meds. It is just SO painful to see our darlings fade and then leave us behind. But we will see each other again. Gotta go…choking up.

We adopted a pair of year-old dogs, sisters, from a local no-kill shelter. As different as night and day. The grey one, Martha, who was also the alpha, was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. Not real bright, but you never met a happier hound. Her sister, Elinor, is one of the meanest damned dogs I ever met, but she loves my wife. Over protective to a fault. I went to kiss my bride goodbye one morning and like to have been bitten. We have since come to an understanding.Martha passed away last year at the ripe old age of 13. Not bad for a dog that wasn’t supposed to live to 3. Elinor still grieves some days, but she sleeps so much at 14, it’s hard to tell. We still miss our happy hound, but she lived a long, happy life.
