Our cat did something like this Christmas ‘06. We were abroad and she was lodging at the vet’s. She managed to hide when she was let out of her “cell” and escaped when they left a door open. Luckily she made her way home and holed up in her mountain hideout for a week. The vet staff still recall the incident when we take her for her check ups.
