In Australia we had a very popular TV program called Skippy’ It was about a very smart kangaroo that supposedly talked but only ever said, “Tsk tsk tsk”. For the benefit of viewers his friends would then say things along the line of, “What was that Skippy – oh, yes, really, Aunty Suzie is coming today is she and you are suggesting we should get to the shops to buy some lemonade and cakes; well, thanks for letting us know Skippy”.
We used to go to the driveup window & get something for all the kids & a burger for the dog. The dog knew not to take the food from the kids but in that situation (eating in the car) was never really sure at first when we gave her the burger.
