It’s not drilling that is bad. It is BP’s record of disasters.
Of the major leaks in the past 5-10 years the vast majority were tankers , not offshore drills. I guess we should stop shipping oil here from the MiddleEast; wait…..that means we would have to drill our own.
If I recall correctly, it was chanted loudly and long at the Republican National Convention in 2008. Those who chanted “Drill, baby, drill” have to answer: what does this say about their blind confidence that we can drill our way out of our energy problems without occasional disastrous consequences?
churchie, “SOS” means “Swallow Our “S**t”! My favorite line of course was— “modern technology makes what happened in 1969 virtually impossible”. riiiiiggghhhtt!
My son lives on the beach in Oxnard, SCUBA dives, so I guess I should warn him to carry a skimmer with him at all times to fight off the horror of those “natural seeps”.
Remember- our largest source of fertilizer is (literally) not cows any more, but oil companies. (It makes pretty good bombs too!)
