Many cartoonists have said that characters should be identifiable even if only seen in silhouette.

And Welcome to the Waking World, Gweedo.

So, Sam and Tracy are overhead, where they can get a good overview of the unfolding disaster.

We saw the last of the salt miners going up the lift, so they should be fine. The drilling crew are almost on shore, so I think they got out just when the rig started to tip and before things got really dangerous.

We are left with Ted on the eastern shore with Jimmy pointing a gun at him.

Dramatic events, but no space for a fourth, or even third, panel today. Anyone who followed my posts about Lake Peigneur knows that this is probably going to get worse before it gets better for Ted and Jimmy and the truck and the boat (and I don’t know what happened to the gold).

Why waste time ? Eat aand look at the strip.

Well, it seems that’s what I often do. The problem is that I was cooking and washing dishes when the strip appeared, so I was distracted.

Sam and Tracy are aboard the chopper, along with its talkative pilot. As the situation below deteriorates rapidly they have a good view from a (mostly) safe perch. Helicopters are notoriously delicate craft, however; if Jimmy turns his itchy trigger-finger towards them, Tracy and Sam and the pilot could suddenly become part of the expanding disaster on Lake Pratchett! And of course, the billion-dollar question: where’s the gold?

Ted will be happy the rig is gone if he and the lake survives.

Staton’s a seasoned pro, and is probably aware of what animators have said for years; that action should be readable from its silhouette. You can tell, not only who they are, but what they’re doing.

Hard to believe a well drilling operation & Salt mine would work this close without knowing they were both there !!

@Gweedo: Coyoty left me a message at the Jane’s World comic. He said that some emoticons use the same symbol as HTML. It is mistaken for programming. That’s why I can post without emissions but not with. Thanks for your help my friend. Be well.

I expect that divers retrieved the gold stolen in the 20’s. I mean, really, do you think that much gold would be just left there?—And I’ll say it again to prove I’m wrong, but I think Tracy found the billion in gold after following the tunnel through to Lake Pratchett.Just because it wasn’t mentioned yet, doesn’t mean he didn’t.

They probably haven’t gotten back from a long night of looting.-————————Really cheap shot, Morrow.Four people survived the destruction of much of New Orleans, and are missing after the flooding in Texas, and the best you do is to call them looters. How about waiting to see if they survived before you start insulting them.Really low.

I think you’re on to something there, NightShade. I think the gold has already been moved but by who or where remains to be seen. I’m guessing there will be a quick solution because anything else would extend the story longer.
