Star Trek was noted for a vision of peace and cooperation in the future, but the TV audience still had to be served their ration of phasers and photon torpedoes.
The leadup to the Viet Nam war was told in a book; “A Bright Shining Lie”. The leadup to Iraq was proven a lie in 2002 in a book called “The War on Iraq”, published months before it started. It could have been called “Tarnished Blatant LIes”.
I served in the former, my son served in the latter war, and we were both volunteers. It IS tiresome to keep equating those in our military (outside the Pentagon-long story) with those in politics who start the wars for profit, which oddly seem to be the least just, yet most profitable. M-I-C isn’t just the start of naming a mouse with big ears, but a pack of rats, eating the morality and entrails from America’s body politic.
Contesting the idiocy isn’t the act of a traitor, but the actions of true PATRIOTS. It IS those who blindly support false wars who betray the troops who serve, and the nation they serve.
Sue: do you have ANY idea ( I don’t like drones either, but) how many innocent people were killed by “shock and awe”? Oh, only about 200,000 with the follow-up disasters Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld brought on. Drones ARE a coward’s way out, but they do actually “save” lives, on both sides.

Let’s all not forget to thank The Decider and The Dick.
Oh, and all The Decider’s foreign policy advisors — who are now Jeb’s foreign policy advisors.

I’m glad we never got the flying cars. Traffic would be a nightmare, not to mention deadly.

^Tom asks, “Does a liberal believe ANY war is not false? Freedom isn’t free.” I’m a progressive, and I do. I agree with droutma.

And now that China will be making them soon in droves, who knows, perhaps we will see more overhead either that or be dead?
