….I reckon they over-calibrated it, using the weight of a sandbag which approximated Ralph’s weight….trouble is, it rained on the sandbag the night before and made it just heavier enough that the gun hurled Ralph just a tad over the safety net’s area, and……..Ker-Smash!! This scenario actually happened years ago to a human cannon-ball whose launch was over-calibrated in a similar error.
