Two people look at prices on the board of the California Quick Stop, which are high. Man: I thought gas prices had gone down... Woman: Those are water prices!
A problem Serra and the Spanish recognized centuries ago, little water in the deserts of California and what is now our west, was ignored by the Anglos and developers. Everything total stupid, like golf courses in Phoenix among others, was not only acceptable to them, but touted. Now that there is no more Peter to provide “water” to Paul, there’s nothing liquid left in the sewer.
