Not entirely incorrect. But, remember, if such terrorists had wanted to, they have easily enough money to have puchased suitcase types of nukes, and set one off in Washington DC. long before this. But, it has not happened yet, and quite probably will never happen, as nuclear signatures, and a whole lot of international forensics would soon find out just who it was that did such a horrible thing. And then, every man, woman, and even child of such a group would be hunted down (regardless of just who was trying ot protect them) and eliminated from the face ot the Earth
Even extremist terrorist groups are easily intelligent enough to see that such an act would not, under any circumstances, further their causes.
It is simply another form of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD for short) that kept mankind from destroying itself all during the Cold War!!
The effectiveness of a suicide bomber is based on the fact he has nothing to lose, and as a consequence, stopping him as a “lone wolf” is almost impossible to defend against with any “bodyguard” or “anti-terrorist” scenario. Especially true for “security” folks if the likelyhood of collateral damage from a response might exceed the damage the individual can accomplish.
Citing someone who WAS being a threat when using her vehicle as a weapon is not the same as someone who apparently had already defined their mission as non-violent, and from reports about intelligence gathering, known to be following his non-violent plan. Deviation from the plan might well have brought a more violent response.
The corporate media is up to their usual standards of fact non-checking. The aircraft in question is an autogiro. To the degree girocopter is even a word, it includes both helicopters and autogiros.
