In the future, TV won't just be TV. It'll be a superscience wormhole thingy and if there is a show on, you'll see it, hear it, smell it and everything. So if it's a show about, like a rain forest in Brazil, you could just step through and be there! Wow. Did you get this idea from the pizza commercial that was just on, and you wish you could reach in and take some pizza? The future has to start somewhere, mom.

The Internet still exists for the purpose of ordering new books and scheduling gettogethers to play music and board games. People appearing in public are soundly beaten. Cell phones are limited to three calls per day, no more than 30 minutes. The founders of formerly popular social media sites are all in hiding or in exile in Antarctica. Newspapers became again a viable business in even small towns, and people came to realize that needing to know about everything the moment if happened was mental self-abuse.

I think true virtual reality would mean the end of civilization. Who would want to live and work in the everyday world when they could live our their dreams all the time? And if everyone did that, who would do the labor required to keep the real world running?

OK. If we have that .. there will have to be safety protocols. And someone is going to override those protocols and before you know it…. we have T rex and velicioraptors roaming the streets looking for dinner. Gunfights at the OK Corral along the Golden Gate bridge. The Death Star taking aim at Earth and no one being able to focus the Force because it isn’t May the 4th. And who really is a Jedi these days and……….. and the pizza arrives cold. .. sigh

Oh wow… they’re watching Mrs. Brown’s Boys!!! Got them all on DVD. But considering earlier strips, I’m surprised that Toby is allowed to watch it. And don’t try to tell me it’s not that show… I’d recognize Winnie anywhere LOL
