That is the symbol for nuclear radiation danger. It is also associated with nuclear power generators. Everyone willing to give up their nuclear electricity, raise your hand. OK, I am.. anyone else?
OK, stop negotiations. Make Iran decide to actually acquire some nukes. That would insulate it forever from being gifted humaitarian freedom and democracy like in Libya. And good thing too.
Is anyone here saying that America’s stick, its armed forces, are not the biggest, most powerful armed forces on the planet? To bring up a quote about one application of force in Syria, and apply it to the situation with Iran is mistaken, if not disingenuous.
Teddy Roosevelt was right. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Make peace with others, be polite, don’t bully, but be ready to thump anyone who tries to thump us. The problem is that there are lots of people who are not speaking softly. The Iranians don’t need much reminding about the stick we have, because they watched the Iraqi military be decimated, right on their border, just a few years ago.
What happens when you threaten to bomb a country? If they back down, they remember and resent it. (We sure would.) If they back down, they look to make trouble for those who threaten them some time in the future. If they don’t want to back down, they arm themselves. Diplomacy is by far the better option.
I also need to locate for you an article I read a day or two ago within the Guardian regarding studies of children and empathy.Just spent the last 20 minutes searching frustratedly for it. Did I read on another website? sigh….
You say, “i wish I had the ability to write well.” I always enjoy your posts, and for what it’s worth I think they are well written. You’re too hard on yourself.
I can’t remember who it was, but some famous writer said that writers are people who find writing difficult. People who can’t write don’t realize how hard it is and they don’t realize they can’t do it.

Northrup Frye said that a book is a picnic to which the author brings the words and the reader brings the meaning.
