My dad always wanted to be cremated and his ashes shot from a cannon. After spending time in France as a FO during WWII he had little other use for guns.

Why on earth would the NRA ban guns from their convention? Wouldn’t that be the safest place on the planet with all the ‘good guys with a gun’ there?

I mean, isn’t that the biggest deterrent in the world to the ‘bad guy with a gun’?

NO functioning weapons allowed in the place! Interesting. Good graphic there Martens, compares to what decades of observations indicates. What’s the breakdown from long rifles to handguns across that “mental” revelation?

^The article is phrased indicating HAND guns. Which, given the mass killings as opposed to “routine criminal activity”, it’s actually long guns with semi-auto and large capacity magazines that the “nut cases” prefer. “Domestic” violence tends to be either non-firearm weapons of opportunity, like a knife or golf club, then hand guns.

Today, for ages 15 to 24, a gun is more likely to kill you than a car. By the end of the year, if trends continue, that will be for all ages.…………………“Car technologies and road laws are ever-evolving: in 2014, for example, the National Highways Traffic Safety Administration announced its plan to phase in mandatory rear-view cameras on new light vehicles, while New York City lowered its speed limit for local roads. By contrast, safety features on firearms—such as smartguns unlocked by an owner’s thumbprint or a radio-frequency encryption—are opposed by the National Rifle Association, whose allies in Congress also block funding for the sort of public-health research that might show, in even clearer detail, the cost of America’s love affair with guns.”………………http://www.economist.com/news/united-states/21638140-gun-now-more-likely-kill-you-car-bangers-v-bullets
