I’ve said it before, but Obama is a transformative President. His ability to accomplish the improbable is quite remarkable given the racist nonsense that passes for discourse whoever he tries to get anything done. The opening up of Cuba is but one more example. History will be kind to his legacy. The Obama haters out there are relentless, but the grace, intelligence, and aplomb of Obama’s behavior stand in stunning contrast to his opponents. Has Obama screwed up? Sure. We all do from time to time. But, on balance, if I believed in a God who cares about our species, I would thank him in prayer for the majority of Obama’s behavior in many areas. The economy, the Middle East wars, healthcare finance, immigration reform, all to the good. Lack of transparency, prosecution of whistleblowers, the expansion of the federal government’s claims of “national security” and the drone killings are all troublesome.

I concur: ahab and twclix; While Obama has taken some bad advice at times (nothing compared to w however), I see a man with two daughters who wants to see a better world for their future, with some responsibility to posterity, and not the"make bucks now" of Republicans, and more than a few Democrats representing the country presently.

It’s time to say that Peace, not war, is more profitable for the tuture, and that means ending not just wars with nations, but also ending the “War on Terror” (pointless), and “War on drugs”, (counter productive), ending the war on sanity waged by current right-wingers would also be a big plus.
