If a person is suffering from major depression, it does not automatically mean that he/she will act out violently. The Lufthansa pilot had other issues as well, to cause him to commit such a murderous act.
As a patient he had suicidal things going on, beyond just depression. But compared to the crazies that have taken over airplanes, or started wars, or just driven cars while texting, the casualty rate from pilots is pretty insignificant.
^Standard response in 90% or more of mass murderer cases, the friends/ neighbors say: “He/she seemed so normal.” Which is exactly why “normal people” have always scared the Hell out of me!!
