I have that “little thing”, but it never applies to cats and dogs.
My cat Daisy has the same problem.
My Lisa is just like this. So is Beep Beep. Hmm. I detect a pattern here.
Personal space goes out the window when Sammy the Schnoodle is around. (thankfully)!
