There’s nothing quite as “intersting” as a “Christian” bigot. About that guy who talked 12 guys into leaving their families and love HIM! Gays today, blondes tomorrow, and anyone left-handed the next day?
Okay I call BS! Where were you stationed/deployed soldier/sailor/marine/airman? When did you serve? And how is it you were in San Francisco when everyone else debarked across the bay? And in uniform, really? The Spitting Image: Myth, Memory and the Legacy of Vietnam is a 1998 book by sociologist Jerry Lembcke. The book argues that the common claim that American soldiers were spat upon and insulted by anti-war protesters upon returning home from the Vietnam War is an urban legend intended to discredit the anti-war movement. Lembcke writes that this discrediting of the anti-war movement was foreshadowed by Hermann Göring’s fostering of the stab in the back myth, after Germany’s defeat in Europe in 1918.1
@Jim, so ALL the people I’ve heard tell similar stories about discrimination and hate upon returning from Vietnam were ALL making it up based on some old fart claiming it is all made up? I would take the word of veterans and friends I KNOW aren’t lying over you and some liberal wanker who wants to pretend veterans were welcomed back from the war with open arms and flowers.
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.”Matthew 5:44-45 (New International Version)There’s no clause saying “but you CAN kick them out of your place of business.”So much for “religious freedom.”
Well—aside from all the major implications, one thing occurs to little ol’ me: if business owners have the right to kick out anyone they disagree with, aren’t they going to lose a lot of customers? And maybe go out of business?
