Nice maze! Monty is a softie with and towards animals.Animal testing is too often cruel and ther are other means to do instead of testing on animals.Lab critters aren’t protected like cats and dogs.I hate when they usse rats.Rats are intelligent as a dog, are friendly social fur-babies, and often enjoy sleeping in their human’s sweatshirts. Some pet rats love to groom their human and become rodentists, checking out your teeth, and like to groom your nails. They are the perfect pocket pets. Mice are cute but they smell pretty bad. Hamsters are bitey, but a rat will be your best friend if you treat him gently.

I, too, was surprised to see her call him “Doctor”. I didn’t know that Monty had ever competently stick with one thing long enough to get a Ph.D.

I never thought about what Monty does for a living, but I never would have guessed this.

I think he faked his way in by just SAYing he was a Dr. and would pick up the mice/rats for them so he could actually free them. :o)

I think the point here is that Monty is lost in the corridors of the laboratory and can’t find the test room. If he were going to free the mice, he probably could have done it long before now. Running a maze probably isn’t going to hurt them. The lab and test areas of modern hospitals are quite maze-like.

I remember being upset to find out that the lab animals we kept in our high school biology lab were all killed at the start of summer vacation. Cheaper than feeding them. But any mice of the wild variety that tried to show up in our home were taken care by our fierce feline assassins. Sympathy only goes so far.But yes, Dr. Monty?

A rat in our attic learned how to turn the attic light on by pulling a cord. I finally cut it short so he couldn’t reach it.
