Poncho is actually right about this! And it keeps him out of a lot of fights, too…

Good morning Poncho fans. Poncho is the only dog not going crazy. He has be neutralized. Be happy and healthy my friends.

Second dog reminds me of those Tex Avery cartoons with a wolf going crazy over some babe like Red Hot Riding Hood. Same thing from Jim Carrey movie “The Mask” with Carrey going crazy over Cameron Diaz.

When I was a kid nobody neutered their pets. Our chow/Irish Setter would generally be fine off leash in our yard, but once in a while he made the break, and showed up across town on the porch of some poor family with a bitch in heat.

Poncho and Mitzi are lucky to have a friendship where the hormones don’t get in the way. And hey I’ve said enough for one strip.

Dennis… I didn’t know whether you’d go back to Ballard St …so I dropped in here to answer your question about my avatar..I’m very grateful for it, so I like to tell people …(and I also say it on my profile page.)

Several people have thought it was an RCrumb…but it was actually drawn for me by rOdd Perry, who was the artist half of the Brevity comic strip team, before they turned the strip over to Dan Thompson.The jokes, which they called “verbals,” were mostly written by Guy Endore-Kaiser…and it was a different sort of strip.

I was a huge fan, and posted there every day on Comics.com.When that site closed and the comics came here, we were able to have avatars…and rOdd kindly offered to draw one for me.

I sent him a photo… and he sort of drew me…. only sort of… but I like it.

I’m sure I look quite a bit older than that…. but at least I don’t really have bug eyes and buck teeth. I hope.

For the record… I’m also a hold-out hippie…and quite unregenerate.

Perhaps if we neutered convicted criminals, potential offenders might think twice in the first place.

Why aren’t any of these other dogs neutered? Was Chazz the only owner who thought ahead?

Mitzi doesn’t even seem to be in heat. I guess that doesn’t matter…Or maybe she is just used to crazy male dog behaviour.

Whenever neutering was mentioned his owner would shudder and say, “no way”.It was the only male dog which ever attacked my male Maltepoo mix.
