I worked rotating shifts when mine were little. I think I went four years without sleep.

Yeah sleep is pretty elusive for us parents but every kiss, hug and smile from my toddler makes it worth it. There are people without children who have insomnia without the hugs and kisses.

My daddy, (who’s been gone 30 years this September), told everybody he could think of when I was 4 years old, putting my arms around his neck and saying, “I love you, Daddy”… I don’t remember that particular episode, but he kept it in his heart ‘til he went to Heaven. I feel sorry for those who don’t have children, because they miss out on all those special times that we, as parents, have treasured up within us.

I.can’t.wait…Oh wait. I have pets and they can be just as bad, so by the time the little ones come along I’ll be used to it. ;)

Haaaaaaahahaha! Yeah, that was my son last night. I have no idea when the last time I had a full, uninterrupted night of sleep was. Maybe before I was pregnant?

But I wouldn’t trade that 2AM snuggle in the rocker for anything.
