Grandma actually can tell you about how, with less 24-hour media (TV, Internet, video games), she actually spent more time being told stories about her older family’s lives, or listening to them talk to each other about them, than the kids are getting… conversations while playing board games, people talking at the table longer, etc…
When I was her age I didn’t have time to listen to stories of my elders childhood because i was too busy shoveling coal after walking ten miles home from school through the freezing snow of the burning desert with no shoes.
