This may be a stupid (i.e., completely non-technical) suggestion, but have you tried the magnifier in the drop-down? I don’t know why it would be different, but maybe…
The dropdowns don’t work either. However, everything works on Linux. I have been considering getting rid of Windows for some time, this may tip me over the edge.

Too bad the magnifier no longer works in Firefox. It worked fine until the recent “improvement.”

It works for me in Firefox. FWIW, I’m running version 24.0.

Try Dropdown/Print Comic/Ctrl++. That may work for you

The drop down magnifier did work for me in Firefox version 23.0.1 although I hand to click it about 3 times before it responded.

I just upgraded to Firefox version 24.0 and it still works.

I had to turn off adblock for this site to get the magnifier to work again (Firefox, Windows 7).
I expect adblock will be updated to fix that soon.
