Holly: I didn't tell you about my midterm grades because now you'll expect me to get A's ALL the time!
Val: But Holly, I'm PROUD of you! And I know expecting you to get A's all the time is an unreasonable goal.
Val: For now.
Holly: I KNEW it.

Ha! Called it yesterday!
And for all of you who had the “same mother” – just curious: I’m in my mid-70s. Was this something that kids born in the 1920s (my mom’s age) grew up with and passed along, like a family heirloom?

Sorry Holly.

Well, looks as though Holly did pull off the A’s, instead of setting her mom up for a mean “April Fool!” stunt.
My mom was born in 1904, and she was great. If I hadn’t been an “A” student, I’m sure she would still have been encouraging. One of my first cousins, whose mom was very negative, begged my mom to take him home with her. Mom told him that his mom (who had a serious neurological disorder) needed him. She did, but I felt sorry for the kid.

Heh, over-perform once so they know what you can do and you find that it’s the expected level afterwards. Don’t worry girl, it’s what entrepreneurship and promotions are made of.
