Petey must not want his vitamin intake like what the ad says.

Petey must find it just too recklessly exciting. I know I’m tired just from listening to Madeline read the package blurb!

Most kids would love things that explode, but then Petey’s not like most kids.

That sounds like the misguided marketing for OS/2 Warp: “It obliterates your hard drive!”

OK – today’s strip is definitely out of order. It should have been run before yesterday’s. Look at yesterday’s and see what I mean. They’re still great, though. I live with some people who like bland everything. Clothing must be undecorated. The adult likes gray tee shirts and tan pants. I gave him a maroon shirt and he wouldn’t wear it. “Maybe later,” he said. Hamburgers are unadorned except for butter. The boy doesn’t want fancy trimmings on his food – shredded cheese, maybe. I love hamburgers and hotdogs with EVERYTHING!"

He hates them and he hasn’t tasted them. Sounds like my late-and-unlamented. If he hadn’t had it before, he knew he didn’t like it. It’s a wonder he ever got off mother’s milk. Took me seven years to get him to try tuna-noodle casserole. I mean, we’re talking exotic stuff here.

Yesterday I happened to be making my meal when my parents were doing theirs and I gave Mom (who has dementia) some zucchini with pesto as she started her meal. Pointed out the bowl to Dad. After supper he pointed out he had eaten one…doesn’t have to be bland but has to be same recipe, same brand, same meal cpmbo and zucchini doesn’t go with salmon, fries and lima beans. Getting him to eat a vegetable nutritionists don’t list as a grain/starch (corn) or protein (beans) is interesting and he’s the one without dementia
