Alix: GRAMMA? Are you there?! Gramma Evie: Yes, dear. Alix: Was that a BABBOON on your computer?! Gramma Evie: Silly pests. Gramma Evie: They know how to unlatch doors and windows. They rummage through your house looking for anything edible. Gramma Evie: But turning on the computer...that's a new one. Alix: Fly me there RIGHT NOW!

Baboons are dangerous; they’re wild animals. People and tourists are always being warned not to feed them because they become dependent on that. Also their habitat is dwindling due to building development so they start coming into people’s homes to find food. Here in Durban we have the same problem with the Vervet monkeys, but I think the baboons are more aggressive than the monkeys.

Maybe Evie should take Holly & Alix to Capetown after the wedding. The girls could see the world, and Val & Phil could have a honeymoon. That could be Evie’s present to them.

But if they get married in June/July, won’t it be winter in South Africa? Perhaps not such a great time to visit. JoanHelen, what’s the weather like at that time of year?
