I don’t think the Chinese even can fathom a size 22!I had a frustrating day too, tried on upteen capri pants at Kohls. Same size were either too big or too small OR the legs were 3 inches wide. What is up with the skinny legs. If I wanted to wear Ace Bandages I would do so!

I missed yesterday. The thought of Jerry in a pleated thong struck me blind on the road to Damascus. The thought of J. Lo in the same outfit brought me back. The girls have a point. You have to try on each and every item of clothing because they all vary one to another. This will not change until we stop buying clothing produced in Asian/Pacific sweatshops that pay by the piece. An additional problem is that when we get larger, we don’t all do it the same way, so some places may be tighter than others. But no, Verl, you rally are a 28.

The girls get bigger, the pants get bigger…. but American manufacturers of_expensive_ pants still put the same size on them….

So… Verl and Joy may still wear size 22…. but if they buy American made pants (though I doubt they do) they’re getting bigger pants than the size 22’s they bought 10 years ago.

The only reason those still fit, is cos they’re all stretched out.

OTOH … pants manufactured in Asia grow smaller…

I’ve seen the signs and labels…“New sizing! To compliment your toned, trim 21st Century body, we’ve designed a slimmer, stretchier fit…”

    Here’s what that one means:

We’ll still give you the 12.99 pants you demand… but we’ll use 1/3 less material…which will also be 30% thinner …. and add some lycra so you can get your 20 years older and flabbier butt into them."

I’m surprised Joy and Verl wear the same size. I bought my son a coat from China, he normally wears a medium – in China he’s XL.

Cool! And we can have a swearer for every season, and in the off season one that has cats or dogs or horses on it! I saw a QF sweater at the GoodWill last week, it had Ducks and flowers and Easter Eggs all over it, with about a pound of sequins, Fab!

Why don’t they just go down the street to the tent and awning shop and get custom fit garments? They can sew in a size label with any size you want on it.
