From what I have been reading, Clay is one of too many. With the knowledge that congress and the White House are too busy with “other priorities”, it is surprising that the military still gets so many to volunteer. These men and women are often fighting in foreign countries to protect the investments of the oil companies and other interests, yet even though these big companies seem to have plenty of money to lavishly support political action groups and politicians they scream “class warfare!” “Socialism!” at any suggestion of taxing them a bit more to take care of returning veterans.

We should have had that act passed two years ago, but Tom Coburn (R-OK) didn’t think it was a good idea.

The F-22 was known to be junk, but they kept paying for them way too long before admitting it. The F-35 has proven to be junk, and though originally touted to be cheapr than the 22, it’s now far more expensive, gee, big surprise! That program is $1.3 TRILLION so far and is not only junk, but apparently designed more to perform missions that drones can do already.

Reading last night btw about treating drone drivers for PTSD and giving them medals for bravery, well both themes were shot down. There IS a mental problem for those drone drivers, but it relates to video gaming as reality, and covering up that these folks are NOT as affected in any way by the killing as are their actual “field experience” folks. But they’re inventing a syndrome for their “problems”.

BTW: on the drone thing, our troops ALL of them, and veterans deserve the best care, and that includes weeding out the fakers trying to get only benefits ($) who aren’t concerned with getting treatment, which is the first clue on fakery.

PTSD IS real, and deadly to some, but other conditions usually appear, like schitzophrenia, in the more “violent” types, it’s NOT JUST PTSD. Which, that means more serious and broader treatment protocols, not misdirection and more drugs!! That’s what this bill needs to provide.

Churchie, learn to read, or pay attention. I did a lot more than government work, I wasn’t a teen when I enlisted in the Army- but I HAD received my draft notice, and I never said I did riot control in either Washington or Watts. My great uncle lived in Watts, and I saw those riots up close, but when King was assassinated I did go with troops to Baltimore, not D.C. and I did riot control after that as a Ranger. BTW; my pension is only about 1/3 of what my Brother was getting as a retired aerospace engineer who never worked on anything but a government CONTRACT in his entire career. He always called me a government scab. btw; I also worked and paid to help my folks put him through college so he never worked while in college, (I did have to, as G.I. bill didn’t pay that much of the bills) and he never once said thank you, let alone ever pay me back.

I’m just shocked you’re pro-abortion til 20 weeks atheist, who seems convinced Israel, or right-wing “Christians” can do absolutely no wrong, no matter who they murder in those wars that I do indeed hate.

as to “full of it”? HAR!

And you know this how? According to an article on him, “Routh had been a small arms technician who served in Iraq …”. I would not assume that anyone in Iraq was able to avoid combat, not at his level. Pending documented details, I will treat your comment as an outright lie.

The Clay Hunt story, like a reported 22 per DAY, illustrates why I tell people not to say “Thank you for your service”, but rather say; “Welcome Home”.

Many of us do not want to reflect on, let alone be thanked, for what “you” sent us to do in your name. That is especially true in today’s “wars”, where drones remove “you” even further from touch, or responsibility, for the horror you rain down on them, and US!

You have not touched what a bullet does, or picked up the pieces after high explosives from a mortar round, bomb, or Hellfire missile have devasted a child’s body, or that of your best friend. You have not seen that napalm is as cruel as gasoline in a cage, and phosphorous burns, are worse.

Yes, there ARE many stressors now affecting those “pilots” of our drones, in their bunker day in, day out, killing in “your” name, from afar, clean hands, no mess, no risk to them, just like “YOU” like it that way, clean and “honest”, totally asymetric, only “bad guys” die, well except for their women and children, livestock, and entire generations of their families.

Yes, Clay Hunt and his brothers and sisters at arms have done as you asked, before “you” turned “your” backs on them, but please, don’t say “thank you”, say “welcome home”, and:

DO SOMETHING TO PROVE YOU MEAN IT!

Routh, unlike Ernst, at least set foot in the same country where the shooting was actually happening. If you don’t like Brian Williams, better not over-estimate Ernst.
