A kind and caring person, it is tragic, just like the hundreds of thousands who died because one family wanted to settle a grudge.
The real tagedy was the idiocy of invading Iraq, failing to plan, then screwing everything up by doing everything possilbe wrong, like ejecting the Sunni/Baathi’sts, who then created ISIL/IS.The real barbarity is starting an unjust war.
The real tragedy is all those like Kayla who want to save and improve lives, through peace, falling victim to those who don’t care about any but themselves.
Thank you, Mr. Bennett. Beautifully done. At first, I didn’t pay attention to the position of the flame. I’m interpreting it as an ascension of her soul.
You have to wonder how she would have responded to the calls for war. She probably followed Ghandi’s take on it; “An eye for an eye, and the whole world is blind”. But allowing the ISIS reign of terror to continue can’t be a solution, either. Just as well that I’m not the one making decisions.

Whom do you see as being yourself in the parable in: Luke 10:27-37? .Are you the priest, the Levite or the Samaritan?
