There was only one time I totally shut down a discussion. It was in British Columbia and they had finally instituted Tommy Douglas’ health plan (under federal orders) and naturally there was as waiting list as the system was swamped by those who couldn’t afford it before. (It lasted about a year, until the backlog was eliminated – not forever as AMA claims.)I merely said, “Well you could do as we do in the US.” “What’s that?” “If you can’t afford it, you die.” This was a meeting of co-op officials with a higher social conscience than most, but I never heard the subject raised again.

It won’t just be Betty; if the Repubs gain total control, then they will finish burying most of the rest of us. That includes you, too, Harley!

I am frustrated that the debate focuses primarily on Susy Sickbed and how we can make sure she gets her treatment.

That doesn’t come for free. My wife and I have paid for our health insurance for years and now we get a lower standard of service (less frequent tests and procedures) so that all those freeloaders flooding into the system can get theirs at little or no cost.

Just one more way of stealing from the productive and self reliant to give to the indolent and the incapable.

Obama talks a big game of sacrifice when it is the productive class being expected to open their wallets and provide more to the takers. But he never challenges those takers to get up off the couch and change their ways to become more self sufficient.

How many times have we seen in telling his constituents: Stay in School, Learn a trade, Avoid getting pregnant before you are married, don’t use Drugs, Alcohol or Tobacco, learn to live within your means? Never!!!! Or at least I never hear it.

When he opens his mouth it is to lecture those of us who live a lawful and moral life to stop judging those who don’t and open our hearts in compassion when they get what they so richly deserve for their bad habits.

He has become a Tiresome shill for the Dependent class!!!!
