Afraid of vaccines, Ebola, Measles, while there ARE rational things to fear, like lunatics in the Middle East holding nukes and attacking their neighbors, or even the idiots texting while driving, Americans could start applying a little logic to determine what’s worthy of concern at the national level.

That’s ridiculous, and nasty. You’re playing into the paranoia of the anti-vaxxers. I definitely don’t want to see tyranny riding in on the back of social programs. And don’t forget the CIA’s antics in Pakistan; foreign programs are quite possibly being used as the testing grounds for changes in the U.S. The anti-vaxxers already distrust the government, while the government (and people like you) work harder every day to prove them right.

Mikema50: calling them morons is one thing. Calling to have them thrown in jail is another. That’s an option with which we should be very careful.

Technically speaking it is better on an evolutionary level to not use vaccines. It is however completely and utterly stupid not to use them if you want people to survive.

Those kids are better vaccinated than ours. Their parents see the deaths, and they’ll crawl over barbed wire to immunize their children.

I see that you have taken onboard precisely none of the logic or information presented to you previously about why this is a stupid statement.

I suspect that the frog is something Hyla, and yes, it is an air-breathing land snail, Cepaea hortensis I think. :)

And who doesn’t like a frog with a snail for a hat? :D But thank you.

“Vaccine Deniers”; another group to demonize along with “Climate Change Deniers”, along with that buzzphrase that makes no sense..Climate change deniers doubt the climate is changing due to man, but people who do not vaccinate their children don’t do it because they doubt vaccines exist, but because they don’t trust that there won’t be severe side effects for their children..Sounds like another hate filled catch phrase.

Hope the hog sees its shadow, as six more weeks of winter would give us the first full week or more we’ve had in three years.

AGCC isn’t pseudo- it’s real science, and real fact, and worse than that needle in the head. But keep on denying it.

On a side note, re. out-evolving pathogens:

There is a way in which we have out-evolved pathogens, actually. We evolved intelligence which allowed us to develop vaccines.

Which is precisely why smallpox isn’t out there any more.

And if we used vaccines properly, without caving to the people who fear irrationally, we could completely wipe out measles and polio, as well.

    THAT is out-evolving a disease.

Let’s just lump them into one category: life deniers!
