Maybe in about a hundred years or so, some young heirs of massive fortunes will be cursing their great-grandparents, as they are choking from the noxious air, and dying from cancer.

According to the best available science, we need to leave about 75% of the remaining the fossil fuels in the ground if we want to continue to have a planet that can support human food crops. We might as well leave the oil under a wildlife refuge, and leave the dirtiest fuels like coal and tar sands in the ground.

The Refuge deserves final and permanent measures for protectection. There is far more oil to the west in the National Preserve, and the move to get access to ALL refuges and protected lands has always been the oil companies con game with ANWR. If they can kidnap the bride, the bridesmaids are theirs as well. BTW: the reason that “small” area on the north slope is so importnt is because it’s the only breeding/rearing habitat in the ANWR for those species.

The closest those wanting to destroy the refuge ever came to knowing anything about biology, was swalling a live goldfish on a dare in the third grade; their highest level of education.
