I laughed until I cried. It was funny. What? you didn’t think it was funny? I know how you feel. I didn’t laugh at the potatoe joke when everyone else was.

@Dr.Canuck Its Ramirez’s stupid way of saying we need to get rid of unemployment benefits, kick people out of their homes, continue with the pay or die system we are so very proud of, and stop subsidizing alternative energy sources.

Considering the level of, say, income tax in the 1950s (notably higher than today), and the growth of the economic disparity since, I’d say this is another Ramirez cartoon. It’s great on the art, but poor on the substance.

Unemployment and Healthcare I get, a tad cold given the global economic climate and I sure would rather be on the side defending humanitarianism rather than defending greed, but paying for an unemployed person’s hybrid car? Huh? And I really hope that we don’t start paying for anyone’s mortgage. Then this annoying mantra of “nanny state” will be legitimized. Still, Ramirez strikes me as kind of a jerk with these cartoons - probably doesn’t buy any girl scout cookies
