Civilian use of drones should simply be under the same exact rules as RC models, which I’ve flown, under 500 foot ceiling, ONLY in line of sight control, PERIOD! They’ve become pests in National Parks and other “quiet” areas even those rules wouldn’t stop. And yes, I’ve got a four propeller “drone” that I only fly on my own property. I’ve also ridden dirt bikes and driven 4 wheel drive vehicles for decades, and use them responsibly and do NOT take them where they don’t belong and might damage resources.
This isn’t just about “drones”, but the fact that Americans are so hung up on THEIR individual “rights”, that they don’t give a rat’s patootie about anyone else’s peace of mind, property, or our “commons” being of value or protected, from THEM!
Anyone flying a “drone” over White House grounds (NPS property actually) should go to jail just like anyone jumping the fence. It doesn’t matter WHO is in residence, it’s a matter of security as well as protecting OUR “national treasures”.
What is going on with the president’s protection? Are his guys just not trying? This is just not right. The secret service must need to beef up their program.Why do people want to fly drones anyway. Used to be those remote controlled models and it seems like that should be enough fun for anyone.
