When gov’t agencies lose the confidence of the American people the anti vaccination movement is just one example of how concerned, and frightened, citizens react. During Mr. Bush’s last term in office, it was revealed the man he’d appointed to the FDA was once a lobbyist for a drug company. Currently, there is a petition asking Mr. Obama to fire a high ranking FDA executive with ties to Monsanto. These oversight agencies are supposed to aggressively protect citizens from the greed and abuses of companies, but are more and more often led by people who helped perpetrate things concerning our neighbors. There is inconclusive information that indicates some children may have reactions to vaccines ranging from minor to severe. There is stronger evidence that children living downstream and/or downwind from concentrations of chemical and industrial plants may have health problems ranging from rashes, to asthma, to autism. In all cases, the gov’t is choosing not to spend the money necessary to confirm or deny these statements and are, instead, trusting the tests commissioned by the drug companies and corporations being accused of doing harm. The costs to families and society for having children with life ling health problems is apparently ‘less’ than the costs that might be incurred by corporations who were found to be doing harm.An aborted fetus is considered a crime against God and society by many, but a disability diminished life is apparently acceptable if it protects profits.Respectfully,C.

The problem is corporate money including the health care industry is running the government. John Q middle class doesn’t have the money for a super PAC.

The current measles vaccine is not the exact same formula used in the 50s and 60, Logicalone. It has been altered as science and techniques changed, but I’m not saying it’s dangerous. I simply state that over the last few decades, the guidelines by which medical scientists are forced to work have been changed, and oft times changed by people who put profit over quality of care. I still believe in vaccines, and have infant grandchildren being treated at the proper intervals. I pray they will not have reactions, but would have more confidence were the ‘corrupt system’ not in place. I am not attacking the scientists, just the people who pay them. I also believe that the climate is changing because of man’s activities and the scientists who are part of the “Doomsday Clock” group seem to agree. Consider this… If 95% of doctors told you a pill would kill you, and 5% told you it would save your life, to whom would you listen. Logic alone should guide your answer.Respectfully,C.

Do you have any evidence that the two groups are the same or are you just making a random attack?

Gee, I guess that makes the ultra conservative Congressman, Darrel Issa a Communist, as his congressional district is in California. Who but another ultra conservative like yourself, would ever have known that!!!

Just where do you get the so called “logic” in your name from? Those of us here that say we should be listening to the over whelming number of climate scientists and changing from a fossil fuel burning civilization to one that does not burn such pollutants up into the atmosphere, would certainly also have our children and grand children be immunized against such diseases as the measels as recommended by the overwhelming nimber of medical scientists. But, it is still a free country, so if you wish to risk the health of your own family, then please go ahead and do so. But, do not blame the rest of us for your own errors!!

The National Academy of Sciences happens to say that the climate is changing and that there is no demonstrated link between the measles vaccine and autism. Sounds like your experience is too limited.

You can never be too paranoid when it comes to your children.

Not a single comment about illegals? It is extremely likely that this outbreak is tied in with the recent wave of immigrant children populating the southwest. Has little to do with what group of Americans is for or against vaccination.

Working for Disney, Mickey’s far more lkely to hae the clap than measles.

As a kid, I had measles, mumps, and whooping cough, AT THE SAME TIME- sick kid indeed.

Al Jazeera had a good bit today on autisim and genetics, and it’s far more the cause than anything to do with vaccinations. There WAS some concern about the MERCURY preservative in some vaccines, but that wan’t the “vaccine” component itself. I don’t take flu shots, because I got worse flu seasons the two times I did, probably that “wrong strain thing”, which is pretty common. I did find this year that when my wife and I both had the cold/flu this year, my symptoms were less severe, and I think my vaccine against pneumonia may have assisted with those bronchial symptoms.

But hey, I believe in science, analysis, and even some common sense, so that separates me from “right wing” America- tough.

Just like those hordes of Mexican and Honduran kids recruited by Al Qeda to come across the border infected with Ebola, right?

These antivaccinationists don’t just endanger their own children. They endanger other people’s babies, and all the immunocompromised Make-A-Wish kids who really wanted to visit Disneyland. Now THAT is not fair.
