“The “Bridge-to-Nowhere” project was started prior to Palin becoming Gov… and was cancelled in 2007 by then-Gov. Palin…”1) Palin endorsed the bridge to nowhere project while running for governor in 2006. It wasn’t until after Congress killed its funding that she claimed to oppose it.2) After canceling the bridge, Palin’s administration spent more than $25 million of government funds to build the Gravina Island Highway, which would have connected with the proposed bridge. It’s now known as the “Road to Nowhere.”https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravina_Island_Bridge
Palin publicly supported the bridge during her gubernatorial campaign. She only “opposed” it after Congress killed funding and she was running for Vice President. She called the bridge she supported the Bridge to Nowhere. Even after the bridge was canceled, her gubernatorial administration spent $25 million in government funds to build a highway that no longer had a purpose.

There IS plenty of money from the gas taxes: state & federal. Politicians do not have to, and probably do not use it for its intended purpose.

You would think they could’ve made bridges safer with $787 billion to spend.
