I hope that congress and the president can work together and demonstrate that the two party system is not broken. The voters stayed home in record numbers due to the low approval of the house and senate but there is an opportunity to show that that this congress can really govern and not turn their election into a Pyrrhic victory.
This say’s a lot about Nick’s view of Republicans. The GOP quarter back has no identity, he is only portrayed as an elephant, not any specific person; such as Bohner or McConnell (better known as Grumpy Senator).
The cartoon seems very appropriate since I find both sides, blue and red, to be quite offensive.Despite Republican obstructionism, and Democrat arrogance, and Mr. Obama’s reluctance to seek counsel outside of his circle of friends, the economy has improved, the stock market is at record highs, gas prices have dropped, deportations are up, the corporations making money off of war are profiting, more Americans have access to healthcare, and Americans have a little more hope than they did in 2008. There is still much to do. Our Union is stronger, but not because of our legislators… despite them. It is not cynical to believe they will continue to work to make their opponents look bad in ways that hurt our nation, it has been their modus operando for nearly 8 years. The sad thing is too many of us will continue to yell at each other for THEIR mistakes instead of looking to each other as allies to find better leaders and a better path.Respectfully,C.
The problem is the Republicans don’t have any JV team anymore, they’re running intellectual and emotional peewees. Two more years, get rid of the TEA drinkers in the House and Senate, and they may even move up to Pop Warner.
“I knew when he said he’d cooperate with Congress some weeks ago that it was just more Obama Liberal B.S. The man does not know the meaning of ‘cooperation’. To him it is ‘do it MY way’.”Funny, that’s how many of us see the Republicans. It seems their definition of “compromise” is to do what they want.
It was Richard Mourdock, Repubican from Indiana who said, “I have a mindset that says bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view,” He wasn’t the only one to say that. Just an fyi.Respectfully,C.,
Ha!My comment was deleted because some emotional little liberal didn’t like the fact that I called out Barry’s lecture as false and self-Aggrandizing.Keep flagging me punks.Better yet, grow up and have a response!

A lot of conservatives are suffering from angst and indigestion this morning. Dang, being reminded of Obama success is hard to take!

I am always disgusted about the infantile practice of the opposition not applauding the president. It reminds me of a two year old having a tantrum.
