For Steve Scalise to have genuinely not known that the European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO) was a white nationalist organization, he would have had to be a political idiot. The fact he has managed to become the House Majority Whip just seven years after entering Congress suggests he is not a political idiot.
Which leaves the second, much more probable possibility: Steve Scalise knowingly and purposefully went to give a speech to a white nationalist group. He may claim up and down that he is not a racist, but at the very least he has demonstrated that he has no problem specifically pandering for votes from racists.
The fact that House Republicans have affirmed this self-described “David Duke without the baggage” as their whip is a deep stain on their party. They would do well to jettison him.
News item: Liberal media now making excuses for having totally screwed up the Steve Scalise story and accusing an innocent(relatively-he is a politician)man. Being a lefty cartoonist means never having to say you’re sorry. Good luck on that new job at Rolling Stone, Mr. K.
Larry: Not according to the few ear-witnesses found so far. And it wasn’t about a tax plan that hadn’t been written at the time either. It was about his plan to take money for aid to the poor and give it to a couple of rich sport franchises (Pelicans and Saints), according the erroneous belief that most poor are black.
1. He didn’t know it was a white supremacist group, and he didn’t know who David Duke was.2. Robert Byrd was a former member of the KKK, so they’re exactly the same.
And Obama is coming to take your guns! And Obama death panels!

At least the ‘pubs didn’t make him Senate Majority leader. Maybe if he had made Grand Wizard, like Sen Byrd (D-WV) he could have had a shot.

So, the response of so-called “conservatives” is:
1. He didn’t know it was a white supremacist group, and he didn’t know who David Duke was.2. Robert Byrd was a former member of the KKK, so they’re exactly the same.
