I never noticed that “Larry” was used more often but that is an interesting question. Before pursuing it though you should establish that it is, in fact, used more often. Because an alternative explanation is selective perception (e.g. if your name is Larry you might just notice it more often). It might take a few weeks or months of writing down the names of all the fall guys on this website.

i do know that there is an inordinate number of dwayne’s (various spellings) incarcerated in this country. does that help?

Not only is Larry common here, one of them you mentioned, Larry Miller, is really, really common. I live out in the country where houses are not close together but at one time there were two other Larry Millers in the phone book, each within a mile of me.

When I was a “little tyke”, I used a magnifying glass to “fry” ants by focusing the sun on them! The little “buggers” would vaporize almost instantly…
