Mom and dad got a 2 yr old rescue Great Dane last weekend. He is their first Dane. He has already started wiggling his way between them to sleep at night. They have never had a dog this big always German Shepherds and Dobies and never let them sleep in the bed, but the 150lb dog who is not finished growing gets to sleep in the middle. I won the bet with my friends that this would happen. My dad still insists this won’t be a permanent thing. OK dad keep telling yourself that. No need for the winter comforter the big guy puts off a lot of heat.
I’ve only been around one Dane and that was many years ago when I was 16 years old. We had traveled North to Chicago to visit my oldest sister who was living there with her husband. We were sitting outside on their patio and their neighbor brought their Dane over. He was so sweet. I have a picture somewhere of him sitting up tall on my lap. I wanted to keep him!
