I will always stop at a resteraunt or other public place to thank our thin blue line that keeps us all safe from the viciousness of the criminal element in our society! Indeed, RIP Officers Liu and Ramos!!!!
It is interesting how you can make a police officer’s day by simply being polite and respectful.I was stopped for speeding two years ago, I waited for the officer to come to my open window with both hands on the wheel and seat belt on, I hadn’t started digging in the console for the paperwork. He asked for my info and if I knew why he had stopped me. I told him I knew I had been driving eight miles over the limit, but the state police usually let us get away with that. The expression on his face was surprise, then he smiled. “If you’d been driving eight over, I’d have let you go, but you were actually thirteen over.”I was just under two miles from where the speed changed from sixty five to seventy. We had a pleasant chat, he gave me the ticket, but in front of the judge, he told the judge I had been very polite and courteous. The judge charged me court costs and told me to behave for a year.Police deserve our respect. I add my condolences to those of Reflex and the other Americans who are saddened by the deaths of what appeared to be good men and promising public servants.Respectfully,C.
114 pollice officers killed in the line of duty this year. How many got weeks of national media coverage, and demonstrations to stop violence against police?
RT: Police are ordered by politicians to emphasize speed enforcement, and bring in revenue. Radar/laser has increased the revenue stream, glad your guy was like so many that were polite. Maybe it’s because even the most rampant “statistics gatherers” in the safety community know that speeds in excess of the limit are actually responsible for less than 5% of fatal accidents. (usually single vehicle) Failure to yield right of way is actually the leading cause, along with DUII (in over 50% of fatal accidents).
The police ARE therefore serving the elected masters the public put over them. Like selling “singles” on the street and irritating the powers that be, laws/regulations targeted for enforcement are not always what the police themselves would choose.
Cheney (as in Lynne on the board at Lockheed) and her hubby peddle wars and contracts to their companies, that’s conspiracy, not policy, except at their house.
@r2varney, yeah. This is how gun free zones work:https://danieljmitchell.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/this-is-how-the-left-thinks-gun-control-actually-works/

So now it’s guns don’t kill people, mayor’s do. Once again selective reasoning is in play.
