True, but still, the more video evidence, the better.

The police do need to use more restraint. He was not an imminent threat and I am sure the police department had enough manpower to restrain him. A little more time and less aggressive could have resulted in a far better outcome. He obviously was one of those people who probably needed mental help. Another bad example is the kid they killed in the park because he had an air gun. The cops roared in driving across the park, jumped out of their car and opened fire within seconds. He was sitting on a park bench when they arrived. A little less aggressive approach might be they could have put a little more distance between the suspect and themselves, taken cover behind the squad and spent a little time talking. I bet they would have quickly realized it was an air gun and the kid probably would have surrendered and be alive today. The Brown case was different, he was obviously a thug who attacked to cop. We really don’t need Clint Eastwood or John Wayne cops. They are supposed to serve and protect and most of them do a fine job of doing that without emptying their Glocks into the suspect.

Watch the NY video again, folks. Watch as the officer attempts to grab the suspects right wrist and cuff him, and the supspect pulls away, and “swats” at the small officer standing in front of him. The officer behind then puts a neck hold (NOT a “choke” hold) on the suspect with his right hand on the suspects right shoulder, and takes him to the ground. He then releases pressure as other officers DO “cllmb on” to cuff the suspect who says, “I can’t breath.”, which actually proves he CAN, but his breathing is compromized by his physical conditon, and yes, being pinned to the ground so he can’t hurt officers until he’s cuffed. (been there!)

After he’s cuffed, the suspect is rolled onto his side in “coma position” and the officers keep checking on him until the EMT’s arrive. Suspect is then transported to hospital while with a pulse and still breating. Unfortunately, suspect does die over a hour later at the hospital. Autoposy showed death by natural causes, but yes, his difficulties were compromised as a result of his resisting arrest, and being forcibly restrained. (yet again? How did cops know he was a potential threat before they attempted the arrest by having adequate backup on the scene?)

Yes, watch the videos again, and yes I DO strongly support body cams being used in contact situtations. That should include hearing ALL audio during contacts, not just the isolated “text” like “I can’t breath”. Or as in the Rodney King case, showing only what happened AFTER he’d stopped trying to choke a deputy to death, and was taken down with taser for the SECOND time.

A black guy has now murdered two New York police officers, an Asian officer and a Hispanic officer. Lose the “black lives matter”, and realize that ALL LIVES MATTER!!

I learned that in combat nearly a half century ago. Vietnamese lives mattere, Australian lives matter, American lives matter (I lost friends in all three groups), and Pakistani, Iraqi, Iranian, Afghan, and Egyptian, and Israeli (Jew, Christian, Muslim) lives matter!!!

Which while considered “black”, both Obama and Lousi Hamiliton the British World Formula One champion, are mulatto, not really “white”, “black” OR “African American”. My Caucasian friend who immigrated here years ago and became a citizen from South African, to me, DOES represent an actual “African American”, as that is NOT a true racial, but rather a twisted "social " identifier that only has meaning in the U.S.. Nelson Mandella was NOT an “African American”.

ALL lives matter; the only answer to our “troubles” is to realize that, and stop trying to alway “brand” people, like “gook”, “slope”, “Kraut”, or “Commie”- our labels are what have gone by their “use by” dates.

Normally I’d be with you, but alot of his arrests were for selling untaxed cigarettes. .The taxes on cigarettes are so high that a black market is thriving. No tax should ever be so high as to encourage a black market, that is bad governing..We non smokers tend to look the other way on cigarette taxes (myself included), but a man paid with his life because of the greed of politicians.
