Yes, at my work, if you are in my visual range, I offer a general closing of “Have a Happy Holiday” unless you are wearing a Christmas sweatshirt/ star of David or other outright “I celebrate [holiday]” that proclaims your personal beliefs. On the phone, well, I cannot ascertain your beliefs from our 2 minute conversation of if I have a grey sweater in XXL size.
Because some are sick of those telling us we are “going to hell” for not sharing your beliefs. Our freedom of speech gives us the same rights as you, so stop up bothering other people when they tell you they are not interested the first time. If not, then prepare for a retort.

Because some of us are tired of self-righteous folks trying to jam their beliefs down our throats, from psychological intimidation (i.e. going to H*ll) to killing in the name of the “one corrrect God”.
Love all this self-righteous posturing by all parties. This is not early America where if you didn’t attend church you could be seriously punished. This is the 21st century and like it or not the society is Christian by a huge majority. No one is forcing you to listen or participate in the celebrations, all they want is you to not try and interfere with their joy. If you don’t like it maybe you should wear a sign saying ‘leave me alone’ or take a vacation to the deserts.
And it you say, ‘Christians are always trying to convert me’, I say I have had many Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, and Evangelicals knock on my door. If your pleasant and firm, they will wish you a good day and go on their way. So get a grip people and have some good will towards your fellow man.
I think you got your answer in the first 2 comments today. I enjoy talking about religion and politics with the right people. Not people who only agree with me, but people that are open minded and want to learn from others as I do. There are some very interesting and different thoughts out there kids.
I am fine with the expression of religion in public on private (or corporate) property, I am fine with a greeting of “merry Christmas”, I can even accept and politely turn away the JW and other proselytizers. What makes me mad is preaching to children under the guise of a “harmless Christmas program” or using my tax dollars to promote a religion.
Christians trying to convert me I can brush off. “Christians” making laws that say everyone has to behave as if they were “Christians” get up my nose, especially since those are the people most ignorant of their own religion. Note for those insisting on public prayers before council meetings etc.: Read Matthew 6:5-6 where Jesus says to pray in private, not in public like the hypocrites do. Also Jesus said not one word about homosexuals, but he repeatedly condemned being rich.
