It was fine, Ben. If you’re going to get a natural Christmas tree, you’d spend half the day finding a perfect one anyway. She just wanted a natural one.
We have an artificial tree which “lives” on our enclosed front porch. It took four hours to put together and weigh Heaven-knows-what. It stays there all year long. Taking it apart, loading it on the tractor, and hauling it to the barn is just too much like work!
My parents always had a real tree while I was a kid… but towards the end of their lives, they ended up getting an artificial one. Dad just got too old to continue going out into the woods to cut a real one down.

I’ve had mine for a few years. It looks more and more natural every year (thanks to my kitties!)

Don’t kill a tree, for show. Re-plant it after you get your kicks. :) Peace.

I’m suddenly reminded of the bonsai scene from “The Karate Kid.” Ben needed to “make like picture.”
