The last time I worked at a gas station, Gas was around $1.00 to $1.25 per gallon and people blew a gasket when it started raising up past $1.50. I still remember all the whining about the prices by people who were driving around alone in their SUVs and large trucks. It’s almost comical listening to people talk about the “low” gas prices of today.
Marlon Brando as an oil company executive (U.S. company) had a great line when questioned about gas prices and “the Arabs”. His statement was “You idiot! We ARE the Arabs!” Same is true of Exxon Mobil, CONOCO, Shell, et al “American” oil companies. Mobil in fact was directly responsible in 1923 for installing the house of Saud, and creating “Saudi Arabia”!! When the Saudis “nationalized” their oil company, they contracted with Mobil to run it- keeping their profits about the same as before!
I won’t buy one of those pigs until gas is the same price as when I owned my ‘51 Pontiac straight 8, that I never bothered to find out the mpg on, $0.18 a gallon! Pickups today are the size of semis- it’s ridiculous!!

As soon as Putin is properly punished, and repents, gas will rocket right back up, past reasonable rates, and Exxon-Mobil et al will make it all back!
