Woman: The Gumbos misunderstood the term "Ornament Party".
If the hostess had any brains, she would have worded the invitations as “Ornament Exchange Party” instead of “Ornament Party”. Then there would have been no confusion. If someone was that rude to me in front of other guests, I would tell them to remove my name from their address book and then leave.
I would strike the rude hostess off my Christmas list, friend list, and any other list I could think of. I’d love to ‘wipe’ that insulting grin off her face.

When you find that you are attending an “ornament swapping” party maybe it is best to take off the ornament costumes lest your intent be misconstrued.
